~Art Give Away~ AND THE WINNERS ARE...

Journal Entry: Fri May 1, 2015, 10:37 PM
  • Mood: dA Love
I used the random number generator from here to pick the numbers. And each person's number is assigned to them in the order they commented. 22 people commented so I think that makes the odds 1:7? (if that's wrong, I apologize, I'm not the best at math ^^; )

3 :star: revamp 10  :star: revamp 11

Which Means...

:iconxxzoeythefox606xx: :star: revamp  :iconmetaruu: and  :iconaurora-la: WIN!!

Seriously, thank you all so much :iconsweethugplz1::iconsweethugplz1::iconsweethugplz1:

I... I never really thought I'd hit this landmark, but thank you guys SO MUCH for watching me!! It makes me really happy that people enjoy my art and that you guys enjoy my comics especially. So I wanted to give a little something back. I'm gonna hold a little contest of sorts and it's really easy to enter. What are the prizes? Art!

Red Square Bullet   Prizes   Red Square Bullet

Bullet; Red  a MAX of 3 characters interacting. It can be one or two if you want that, but please no more than 3.
Bullet; Red No R18+ material: no fetishes, gore, character death, etc.
Bullet; Red Keep it positive! Let's have fun and not bring any character hate into this.

Blue Square Bullet    How To Enter   Blue Square Bullet
Bullet; Blue You must be one of my watchers.
Bullet; Blue Comment on this journal. Once.
Bullet; Blue Seriously, just once. Commenting more than once will not give you more of a chance. I'll hide any duplicate entries I see and if you continue to spam it will disqualify you.

Pink Square Bullet   WINNERS    Pink Square Bullet
Bullet; Pink Entries will end Monday May 4th at 6PM MST
Bullet; Pink I will use a random number generator to pick the three winners later that evening.

Hey!  You use Manga Studio 5, right?  I'm having trouble fixing a proper image resolution for my comic pages.  I've had pages that were either too small (for my liking) or not as big as I would like them to be for everyone's viewing pleasure.  I was wondering what resolution or page dimensions you use for you comic pages.  They seems bigger than 8.5X11, and your resolution is always perfect.

bunneh icon17 Think you could gimme some pointers?  I've had my software for a few years now, but I'm still learning all of the tools and things...  I'm not too ambitious with my drawings lol.  Thanks!  Loving the comic, btw!  Keep up the good work.

Yes I do! And I can totally give you some pointers :aww:

The Industry Standard for comics (when it comes to print) is a final size of 6.75" x 10.25". If you were getting it Printed on paper you would want to have bleed on each size which would bring your size up to 7" x 10.5". Either way you should try to stick to an Active Area (keep everything important within these dimensions) of 6.25" x 9.75". This is just the print standard, though. If you were to buy comic page templates/work pages at an art store or the like you could purchase pages at the exact size or scaled up in order to be able to more easily put more detail into your drawings.

That said, I work slightly outside that scale with my comics. My default canvas size is 9" x 13" whenever I'm working on a comic page. And when it comes to resolution my default is also ALWAYS set at 300 (dpi/ppi). This is the print standard and allows for better resolution output. This will make your files WAY bigger, but in the end it's worth it. And it's always easier to save down a file (lower it to 72-100dpi for the internet) than it is to try and improve upon resolution. I do this as well, I have two copies of every page saved, one at the full 300dpi output which at 9x13 = 2700px x 3900px and then a second one output at 100dpi which brings it down to 900px x 1300px. The lower resolution is the one I upload to the internet and it seems to keep the clarity pretty well.

Hope this helps and thank you! :iconnewhugplz:

I don't take requests, and while I do take commissions I'm not open for them at the moment. I'm focused on finishing my current projects.  =)
